As part of a multi-year, open-end agreement with Indiana University, Gwin, Dobson & Foreman, Inc. designed access improvements for entrance repairs to Sutton Hall, Davis Hall and Stouffer Hall.
The project included significant concrete construction and repairs as follows:
- Site grading and landscaping adjacent to building entrances
- Masonry retaining wall and earth retaining structures
- 6,000 sf of concrete slab repair on existing tunnel floor near Davis Hall
- Three sets of concrete stair replacements with railing that is in keeping with existing historic structures
- Reconstruction to existing concrete columns and beams
- 1,500 sf of ceiling repairs and framing to existing walkway canopy
- Electrical work
GD&F prepared the plans and specifications and provided construction assistance to the University. GD&F also acquired the necessary building permits through the PA Department of Labor & Industry under the Uniform Construction Code.
