Facilities
GD&F recently completed construction of the most modern
and technologically advanced engineering office in Central Pennsylvania.
The 13,000 square foot facility, designed by GD&F and David
Albright, AIA, Architect, was recognized in 1998 for design excellence
by the American Institute of Architects, Central Chapter.
The facility incorporates the following:
- Over 50 Pentium-class computers, workstations, and servers linked
together through a Local Area Network (LAN) system
- Internet and e-mail access at all computer terminals
- Computer Aided Design and Drafting (CADD) capabilities utilizing
AutoCAD Release 2005, AutoDesk Civil/Survey Design, AutoCAD Land
Development, AutoDesk Building Systems Software Library,
ArcView GIS, Microstation V.8, archival storage, and office services
area
- Document reproduction and plotting area consisting of two state-of-the-art
high volume, digital imaging, large-format printers; three plain
paper copiers; and two large-volume color copiers
- Analytical water laboratory
- Conference rooms
- Construction support area (construction/project management; CPM
scheduling; Pathline, Inc.)
- ADA design elements in accordance with the latest standards
- Field survey support and storage area
- State-of-the-art building environmental systems incorporating
energy-efficient facilities in accordance with the latest ASME,
BOCA, Labor and
Industry, and NFPA codes
