Penn State University Altoona Campus Parking Lot

To help alleviate a chronic lack of parking, Penn State Altoona (a regional campus of Penn State University) hired Gwin, Dobson & Foreman, Inc. GD&F designed unique parking solutions within the physical confines of the campus and related environmental restrictions.
The project consisted of the following elements:
- Design of three parking lots with a capacity of 350 spaces
- Preparation of plans and specifications within Office of Physical Plant parameters
- Performance of a traffic study including digital counters, capacity analysis and report
- Feasibility study for parking structure including subsurface exploration and soils report for garage foundations
- Wetlands delineations and progress report on previous wetland replacement project
- Erosion and sedimentation control plan for parking lots
- Utility, access and property coordination for new parking lots
The parking lot projects were completed within all budget and schedule parameters of the Penn State Physical Plant office.
