Additions and Renovations to West Allegheny Middle School - HVAC, Plumbing

Gwin, Dobson & Foreman, Inc. performed mechanical engineering services for a 75,000 sq. ft. middle school project for West Allegheny Area School District.

The project included these major components:

• Two new gas fired boilers with new pumps.  Hot water piping system was replaced and/or extended
• Two new air-cooled chillers and pumping system.  All new chilled water distribution system installed
• New central station air handling units providing air to fan powered boxes serving individual spaces
• Completely new direct digital control energy management system
• Complete plumbing system including a new full service kitchen
• Acid waste piping system serving multiple science labs
• New wet sprinkler system protecting all storage areas
