- Planning
Planning
Highly trained, skilled in the most current technologies and well versed in new regulatory standards, GD&F's engineers and environmental scientists make good use of their extensive planning experience.
We are always mindful of practicality and function; GD&F has done hundreds of facilities planning studies resulting in functional and affordable wastewater systems. No matter the size of the project, we always apply rigorous standards to ensure each client receives the best and most economical solution. - Treatment
Treatment
More stringent wastewater treatment regulations place a premium on good engineering design. GD&F has a long tradition of excellence in process treatment. We have successfully engineered more than 100 treatment facilities up to 25 MGD in capacity.
Our staff of process scientists and engineers is at the forefront on new technology. Recently, our focus is on nutrient removal technologies using advanced processes. We have extensive experience with all "suspended growth" and "attached growth" treatment systems. - Collection & Conveyance
Collection & Conveyance
GD&F has designed hundreds of wastewater transport systems for small rural communities and large cities. We have the experience that system owners deserve and today's environment demands.
Conveyance systems, including pumping facilities, interceptor sewers and force mains, are integral components of most wastewater projects. GD&F uses computer modeling in designing pipeline systems for the full range of flow conditions. We also have the practical knowledge of pump operation and hydraulics that is essential to effective design. - Combined Sewer Overflow
Combined Sewer Overflow
Amendments to the Clean Water Act and increased public awareness have spotlighted the effects of combined sewer/separate sewer overflows and stormwater discharges.
Gwin, Dobson & Foreman, Inc. has the proven ability and experience that these projects demand. Our original research and practical design of CSO/SSO and stormwater control facilities have received national recognition. We apply the best available technologies that are functionally appropriate and affordable. - Residual Solids
Residual Solids
GD&F offers a full range of technical services in residual solids management. We have expertise in solids handling, concentration, stabilization, and ultimate disposal.
Our process engineers have specific design experience with anaerobic and aerobic digestion facilities, gravity/mechanical thickening and dewatering, sludge conditioning, thermal drying and land application.
We have special expertise in the evaluation of solids handling facilities and sludge dewatering. - Operations
Operations
GD&F is known for practical solutions to facility operation problems. Plant operators know that they can rely on our responsive, hands-on technical staff when questions arise.
Our certified personnel have the knowledge to solve an array of problems from process treatment adjustments to mechanical and electrical repairs. GD&F's focus is always on effective and practical solutions.
Wastewater
Since its inception, Gwin, Dobson & Foreman, Inc. has been providing engineering services for wastewater conveyance and treatment projects. GD&F is at the forefront of process treatment design for nutrient removal technologies.
